MCP
Let your AI build your desktop.
Kakuchi speaks MCP, an open standard for connecting AI apps to other apps. Connect Claude, Codex or Cursor and ask for a widget in plain words. It's built, checked against a real screenshot and placed on your desktop.
Things you can ask
- “Make a widget that shows my battery, CPU and the next calendar event, in a glassy style.”
- “The weather widget is too wide. Make it a small square and put it on my desktop.”
- “Show me what widgets I have, then remove the ones I haven't used.”
- “Switch my clock widget to 24-hour time and a dark theme.”
- “Build a focus timer that lives in the notch, and show me a screenshot before adding it.”
Why connect it
- Describe it, get it
- Your assistant writes the widget, sees a real screenshot of it, fixes what looks off and places it on your desktop.
- Change things by asking
- Colours, cities, symbols, themes. Settings change without rewriting any code.
- Runs on your Mac
- The server is a local process your AI app starts. Nothing is hosted, and there's no account.
- You stay in control
- Widgets that run commands on your Mac wait for your approval before they're added.
- Works with your tools
- Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or anything that speaks MCP.
- No setup to maintain
- Kakuchi opens when your AI app asks for it. There's no switch to turn on.
Add Kakuchi to your AI app
- Install Kakuchi and move it to Applications.
- Pick your AI app and copy its setup below.
- Ask for a widget. Kakuchi opens by itself when needed.
claude mcp add kakuchi --transport stdio -- "/Applications/Kakuchi.app/Contents/MacOS/Kakuchi" --mcp
Run this once in Terminal.
If Kakuchi lives somewhere other than Applications, use the path shown in Kakuchi › Settings › MCP.

Security
- Everything stays on your Mac. The AI app talks to Kakuchi through a local process and nothing is sent to us.
- Widgets an AI makes are saved in an “AI Widgets” folder you can open and read.
- A widget that wants to run commands on your Mac asks you first.
- What your AI app sends to its own provider is covered by that provider's terms.
