Turn it on for a widget
- 1Add the widget to your desktop from the Widget Gallery.
- 2Right-click it and choose Show on Lock Screen. A tick shows it's on.
- 3Lock your Mac (Control-Command-Q) to see it.
Think about who can see it
Anything on the lock screen is visible to anyone at your Mac, which is why it's off for every widget until you turn it on.
Good choices: a clock, the weather, a countdown, now playing. Less good: your calendar at work, your to-do list, market positions.
Turn it off
Right-click the widget on the desktop and choose Show on Lock Screen again to remove the tick.
