How to build Mac widgets with your ChatGPT, Claude or Google AI plan

In Kakuchi, open Settings › AI, choose Subscription, pick Claude Code, Codex or Antigravity, sign in to it once, then click Create Widget.

Pick your plan

Claude Pro or Max works through Claude Code, Anthropic's own tool. ChatGPT Plus or Pro works through Codex, OpenAI's tool, which also comes with the Codex app. A Google account works through Antigravity.

Kakuchi runs the official tool on your Mac. You sign in through that tool, so Kakuchi never sees or stores your sign-in.

Connect it

  1. 1Open Settings › AI and choose Subscription.
  2. 2Pick Claude Code, Codex or Antigravity as the provider. The Connection section shows whether the tool is installed and signed in.
  3. 3If it isn't signed in yet, sign in once using the tool's own flow, then choose Check Again.
  4. 4Click Test Connection. It sends one small request to make sure everything works.

Build a widget

  1. 1Click Create Widget and describe what you want in plain words, like “a countdown to my holiday with a photo”.
  2. 2The builder writes the widget, looks at a preview of it and fixes what it gets wrong. You see each version as it goes.
  3. 3Click Add to Desktop (or Add to Menu Bar) when you like it. To change a widget later, right-click it and choose Edit Widget, then Change Design with AI.

Questions

Does this cost extra?
Not from Kakuchi. Building widgets counts toward your plan's usage limits, the same as using the tool yourself.
Do I need an API key?
No. A subscription needs no key. If you'd rather use one, choose API Key in Settings › AI instead.
Can every plan see the widget's preview?
Claude Code and Codex look at a picture of the widget to check how it looks. Antigravity works from text only, so it gets the widget's errors and details instead.
