Save your desktop
- 1Arrange your widgets the way you like them on your main screen.
- 2Open Settings › Setups and choose Save My Desktop as a Setup.
- 3Name the file and send it to anyone with Kakuchi.
A setup holds the widgets, where they sit and how big they are, their settings, your theme, and your wallpaper or mood. API keys and other secret settings are never included.
Install someone else's
- 1Double-click the .kakuchisetup file, or choose Install a Setup in Settings › Setups.
- 2Kakuchi shows what's inside first, including any widget that can run commands on your Mac. Click Install if you trust it.
- 3Your desktop changes to theirs. On a screen of a different size, widgets keep their distance from the nearest edges.
Switch back
Put My Desktop Back in Settings › Setups returns your own widgets, theme and wallpaper exactly as they were before your first setup. Installed setups stay listed, so you can switch between them with Use.
Questions
- Does a setup change my menu bar or lock screen widgets?
- No. A setup only replaces what's on your desktop.
- Is my wallpaper included?
- Yes, unless it's larger than 40 MB, like Apple's dynamic wallpapers. If you use a mood, the mood is saved instead.
